These questions are being asked all over the world. By attending Massanutten Academy, you will be exposed to incredible classes where you can discover your future!
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a nationally recognized STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program that helps middle and high school students identify their interests and plan an educational path in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. To round out this concept, we have added an additional emphasis on the Arts: Visual, Performing, Music, History, Writing, Philosophy, and Ethics.
Massanutten is committed to the future as a STEM school. As a result of this commitment, all MMA cadets participate in STEM courses each year.
Students participating in this program may enjoy enrollment and scholarship preferences at universities and colleges partnered with Project Lead the Way.

Mass Communications
Mass Communication is new to the STEM program. It allows students to apply skills to real world applications like internships with MMA and the community, hosting a radio show on our local radio, and broadcast games live. The skills learned in this class will help them become published journalists with a complete resume for communication jobs. Certificates in digital marketing and others will be available for students to obtain, along with real world resume building opportunities.

Drone Operations
Drone Operations is a course designed to get cadets excited about drones and potential career options. Cadets will also have the opportunity to sit for the FAA Part 107 Exam and develop a business plan for their own drone business.
*Drone Operations is supported through DARTdrones and is separate from PLTW. There is a course fee associated with the Drone Operations Class.

STEM Curriculum is woven into the 8th grade science coursework to allow for a broader introduction. -

If a cadet is at MMA for the entirety of their high school career, they are able to have four years of a STEM track on their transcripts. Cadets completing four years of STEM in one track will receive a seal on their diploma signifying this accomplishment!
