Massanutten Academy - Woodstock, Virginia
Massanutten Academy is seeking an energetic, innovative, and student-focused educator to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located in the beautiful foothills of the Massanutten Mountains in Woodstock, Virginia, Massanutten Academy provides a structured, supportive environment where students are challenged to achieve academic excellence, develop leadership skills, and grow as responsible citizens.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Teaching experience in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a related field preferred
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and cadets
  • Commitment to fostering a structured and disciplined learning environment
  • Experience integrating technology into instruction is preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach upper-level Mathematics and Computer Science-based STEM courses
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives
  • Incorporate hands-on, project-based learning opportunities that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and cadets
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date grade book
  • Mentor cadets through weekly advisory meetings
  • Participate in occasional weekend duties and school events
  • Adhere to all Academy policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Help maintain and foster a structured, disciplined, and positive classroom environment
  • Support the Academy's mission of academic achievement, leadership development, and character education
