Massanutten Academy - Woodstock, Virginia
Massanutten Academy is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and student-centered educator to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located in the beautiful foothills of the Massanutten Mountains in Woodstock, Virginia, Massanutten Academy provides a structured and supportive environment where students are challenged to achieve academic excellence, develop leadership skills, and grow personally.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) courses with a focus on Science, History, and Language Arts content, as well as English 8 and other courses as assigned. This position requires a commitment to fostering academic growth, supporting diverse learners, and contributing to the Academy's mission of developing well-rounded students.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Teaching experience in ESL, English, Language Arts, or related fields preferred
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and students
  • Commitment to maintaining a structured and disciplined learning environment
Responsibilities
  • Teach ESL classes in Science, History, and Language Arts, English 8, and other courses as assigned
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and cadets
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date grade records
  • Serve as a mentor to cadets through weekly advisory meetings
  • Participate in occasional weekend duties and school events
  • Adhere to all Academy policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Foster a positive, structured, and disciplined classroom environment
  • Support the Academy's educational and character-development mission

  • Ability to meet all employment eligibility requirements
