Enjoy Book Lover's Day in the Spanier Library
Today is Book Lover’s Day and the Spanier Library and Media Center is a wonderful place to start.
The Library and Media Center itself was originally the Sperry Dining Hall. However, due to a new dining hall, Cook & Kitchin, being built, Sperry Dining Hall eventually fell into disrepair. This is when two of our alumni, Dr. Manus Spanier (’47) and Mr. Daniel Watkins (’68) stepped in and restored the building and fitted it for its new purpose, the pursuit of knowledge.
The Spanier Library and Media Center is a destination for learning and gathering on campus. This center features hi-speed wireless, computer lab, meeting rooms, large group seating, two media venues, and of course rows of books ranging from a full resource library to young adult fiction and even some of our alumni’s works. The Spanier Library and Media Center is a great place for students to do independent study, research, and just enjoy a good book.
