Tingjia Tao's Art To Be Displayed in the Sixth District Congressional Offices

The Congressional Art Competition is an annual competition open to high school students and held each spring as an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation as well as in each congressional district. This year, several of our students submitted pieces, but Cadet Captain Tingjia Tao was awarded a runner-up position and her art will be displayed in the Congressional Offices in Harrisonburg.
Tao's piece is titled "Eternal Summer." It is a watercolor based on a house that she stayed at in Seattle one summer. When asked about her choice of medium, Tao said that she finds watercolors to be a "very interesting medium to work with." Given her obvious talent, we can't wait to see the wonderful things she will accomplish. She plans on attending Juliard.

You know your child can do more but is not getting the attention needed in their current environment to reach their full potential. We know that choosing the right school for your child can be difficult because each child is so unique. We believe students should experience school as it should be, a place where children are educated in an environment that leads them to thrive and encourages their maximum potential.
