Military Ball was a Success!
Military Ball is an Armed Services tradition that is observed in JROTC units around the country. On May 13th, we at Massanutten hosted ours.
Military Ball is a very formal event where the gentlemen in the JROTC unit are required to wear their Class A uniform. Our young ladies are given the option to wear their class A uniforms as well or a long formal gown.
This year, the receiving line began at 1830 in the Cook & Kitchin Dining Hall. Each cadet from both MMA and Central moved down the line introducing their guests to the members of the head table. This was followed by the Presentation of the Colors, toasts, and a wonderful meal prepared by Brock & Company.
Immediately following dinner, the cadets escorted their dates to Memorial Gymnasium. The seniors were announced and proceeded through a saber arch to be presented to the corps and guests. Then our Military Ball King and Queen, Jack Chen and Jessica Hirsch kicked off the festivities with the customary first dance.
