Cadet Life

Cook & Kitchin

Founded by two alumni, Jack P. Cook '43 and William R. Kitchin '41, the Cook & Kitchin Dining Hall is located on the north side of campus near Warehime Dormitory.
Although they attended Massanutten at different times, Cook and Kitchin eventually became lifelong friends. After becoming fraternity brothers at the University of Virginia, they began their careers in the food industry by selling snack foods to over 200 customers in the University of Virginia area. Both gentlemen served on the academy's Board of Trustees and headed the Dining Hall Project.

Today, the Cook & Kitchin Dining Hall serves cadets breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday and provides brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Cook and Kitchin is managed by Ms. Alma May and her team. Their dedication to the environment and the health of the students makes them a perfect partner for Massanutten Military Academy.

Parents are you interested in ordering pizza, wings, cakes or cupcakes for your cadets birthday or other celebrations? The dining hall staff is willing and happy to fill any orders you want to place for less than half of the price of an outside vendor. If interested, please contact Ms. May at 540-459-2617 or email Alma May

You know your child can do more but is not getting the attention needed in their current environment to reach their full potential. We know that choosing the right school for your child can be difficult because each child is so unique. We believe students should experience school as it should be, a place where children are educated in an environment that leads them to thrive and encourages their maximum potential.
