Woodstock, VA

One of the best things about Massanutten Military Academy is its picturesque location. Nestled between the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains in Woodstock, Virginia, Massanutten is situated directly in a small and safe community with a long and rich history.

Students at MMA hail from all over the country and even the world. Some students join us from large metropolitan cities and others from quaint towns. The town of Woodstock, Virginia is the perfect setting for our students as it is a small, close-knit place with a population size of about 5,000 people. As the fourth oldest town in Virginia, Woodstock has a deep history of being friendly and community oriented. The town welcomes our campus and student body with open arms and makes everyone feel as if they are right at home.

Students and families alike often remark on the at-home feeling the atmosphere of Woodstock provides. As you walk through town, sounds of church bells ringing, beautiful scenery line the street framing historic buildings. It seems like something out of a movie setting: one will stroll past a community movie theater, an old time pharmacy with handspun milkshakes, and other landmarks that take you back to what small towns used to be. Cadets are given town passes and can explore everything Woodstock has to offer in their free time. This opportunity allows students to understand small town living and the simple pleasures of life that most modern, fast paced communities do not offer. Woodstock truly provides a landscape for students to experience life, as it should be.
