Provide your child with a quality education that will last well beyond their time at Massanutten Military Academy. Here at MMA, we’re committed to helping your child excel academically and offer several programs to ensure their success.
Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a nationally recognized STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program that helps middle and high school students identify their interests and plan an educational path in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Massanutten is committed to the future as a STEM school and as a result of this commitment, all MMA cadets participate in STEM courses each year. Cadet course loads include:
• Energy and the Environment
• Computer Science
If a cadet is at MMA for the entirety of their high school career, they will have four full years of STEM on their transcripts. Cadets completing four years of STEM in one track will receive a seal on their diploma signifying this accomplishment.
Advanced Placement (AP)
Massanutten Military Academy offers eight Advanced Placement classes including: English, Chemistry, Physics, U.S. History, U.S. Government, Spanish, Calculus, and Biology. An AP class is designed to offer high school students college-level curricula and examinations. Due to the intensity, cadets who take AP Classes receive one extra point towards their GPA.
Massanutten Military Academy is proud to partner with Lord Fairfax Community College & Shenandoah University, in order to offer Dual Enrollment Classes. Dual Enrollment Classes are designed to allow high school students to enroll in college courses for college credit prior to high school graduation. Generally, juniors, and seniors are eligible for these classes. The courses we offer through Dual Enrollment include Western Civilization I & II, Pre-Calculus Statistics Psychology, and Business.
