Congratulations to the Massanutten Military Academy rifle team as they closed the 22-23 season undefeated! Director of Athletics, Kevin Barb, remarked “our Rifle team capped off another successful season, going undefeated and out shooting their opponents by at least 20 points each match. After uncertainty of whether the season was going to happen, the Colonels arose to the occasion and had a phenomenal season!”
The MMA rifle team led by SFC Kurtz was faced with adversity prior to the season starting. SFC Kurtz explained his plan for the season, “My goal for the team this year was to just give them opportunities to continue shooting as we had yet another school withdrawal from the Virginia Military Schools Rifle League. Our shooters really used their time effectively and worked towards improving each of the shooting positions, prone, standing, and kneeling. All shooters made marked improvement and I could not be more pleased with the team this year.”
