What is the Cadre?

In a military school environment, the cadre is a group of cadets who have shown themselves able to take a leadership role in the corps of cadets.
The top three Battalion Staff positions are as follows:
-          Cadet Battalion Commander
  • This cadet is responsible for all battalion activities, sets a standard and climate for the battalion, and serves as a liaison between the cadets, cadre, and Commandant’s Staff.
-          Cadet Executive Officer
  • This cadet is the second in command. He/She coordinates the efforts of the battalion staff in planning, coordinating and executing events, ensures that deadlines are met, and assumes the commander’s responsibility in the absence of the Battalion Commander.
-          Cadet Battalion Command Sergeant Major
  • This cadet advises the commander on the state of moral, discipline, and training, maintains the records and account for personnel during corps activities, and conducts the battalion formations.

Here at Massanutten Military Academy part of our mission is to help our cadets learn leadership skills that will transfer beyond our walls. A large part of that is being able to lead, garner respect, and mediate between your peers.

You know your child can do more but is not getting the attention needed in their current environment to reach their full potential. We know that choosing the right school for your child can be difficult because each child is so unique. We believe students should experience school as it should be, a place where children are educated in an environment that leads them to thrive and encourages their maximum potential.
