STEM Explores Luray

Thursday the STEM Camp cadets went to the Luray Caverns and Zoo.
After learning about geothermal energy, the cadets traveled to the local Luray Caverns. The cadets took a guided tour of the cathedral-sized rooms with 10 stories tall ceilings and a “Stalacpipe Organ”.

However, the amazing caverns are not the only thing that Luray has to offer. The cadets also went to the Luray Zoo, a rescue zoo that houses over 200 exotic animals that were retired from zoos, unwanted or confiscated pets, and sadly occasionally abused. The zoo is privately owned and operated by Mark and Christine Kilby.

These caverns are the most popular cavern destination in the Eastern United States and are just down the road from our beautiful campus.

You know your child can do more but is not getting the attention needed in their current environment to reach their full potential. We know that choosing the right school for your child can be difficult because each child is so unique. We believe students should experience school as it should be, a place where children are educated in an environment that leads them to thrive and encourages their maximum potential.
