Director Ronald Maxwell to be Graduation Speaker!

Director of such films as Copperhead, Gettysburg, and Gods and Generals, Ronald F Maxwell will be this year's graduation speaker on May 27th.
The son of a World War II veteran and a French war bride, Mr. Maxwell graduated from New York University's Institute of Film in 1970 and is a member of the Writers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Upon graduation from NYU, Mr. Maxwell served as the personal assistant to Charleton Heston on the set of Antony and Cleopatra. As his career progressed, he produced, and earned a Best Director Emmy Nomination, for Verna: USO Girl starring Sissy Spacek, Bill Hurt, Sally Kellerman, and Howard da Dilva.

His film Gettysburg established the all-time highest rating for a dramatic film when aired on TNT, and after its release in 2003, Gods and Generals was the #1 selling video in America with over 600,000 sales in the first week. Mr. Maxwell continues to be involved in the film industry and is working on a trilogy of movies from his own original screenplays.

We are excited to welcome him to Massanutten Military Academy and would like to thank Mr. Maxwell for taking time from his schedule to speak to our graduating seniors!
