STEM Students Visit the Virginia Science Museum
Previously this year Target Corporation awarded Massanutten Military Academy a grant that allowed 30 STEM students to take a field trip to the Virginia Science Museum.
Students watched a video on Humpback Whales and then participated in break-out sessions. Some students went to OZBOT where they learned basic robotics. Other students participated in a Medical Detectives session where they tracked a diseade back to patient zero. Then others learned about Sound Science and how different pitches and ranges can be created. To end the day, students explored the museum and were able to watch an exhibition of mice playing basketball!
All in all the students enjoyed themselves and learned a lot. A huge thank you goes out to the Target Corporation for making this field trip possible and we hope to be able to do it again next year!
