Homecoming 2022 Recap

Massanutten Military Academy welcomed back alumni, parents, family, and friends to campus this past weekend.  The festivities kicked off on Friday with registration, parent-teacher conferences, pep rally, and a murder mystery dinner fundraiser.

Saturday’s events started with cadets being inducted into the National Honor Society in Caskey Auditorium. Cadets formed up for parade on Company Street that led into Bowman Stadium. Board of Trustee member Oak McCullough ’07 had the honor of reading the Last Roll Call, which recognized the passing of 28 MMA alumni. Also, LTC Layman and Frank Campbell ’01completed the ceremonial pass and review.

Alan Haines ’67 was presented with the MMA Chairman’s Donor pin for his selfless dedication to the Academy. His servant leadership for the Academy is a true representation of the MMA motto: Non Nobis Solum “Not for Ourselves Alone”.

The football stands at Bowman Stadium were filled with fans for the Colonels kick-off, Senior Day, and the crowing of the Homecoming King and Queen. The Colonels fought hard and won 6-0. The halftime crowning recognized King Cadet Hickman and Queen Cadet Castillo.

Alumni visited the Woodstock Brewery for a social while the cadets and parents attended the Harry Potter themed  high school Homecoming dinner and dance while the middle school cadets had a pizza and dance party in the Hayes Activity Center.
