Last week, the AP U.S. Government, U.S. Government and U.S. History classes travelled to Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson. The tour guide informed the students about Jefferson’s life and political career during the tour of the grounds, the museum, the mansion and Jefferson’s grave. The cadets also walked through the Sally Hemming’s quarters and African American history museum. The students were intrigued by the cellars under the house, the hands-on tools, and 18th century machinery they could investigate!
The students enjoyed the trip and learned a great deal, which was evident as they all continued to talk about the trip on the way back to MMA!
