The defending Virginia Military School Rifle League state champions began their season Tuesday at rival Fishburne Military 
School. With six seniors graduated from last year’s team, the Colonels were led by last year’s league MVP Lilly Herring and second year member, Jacqueline Barnes. Falling short to FMS 967-984, the Colonels hit the road Wednesday and traveled to Chatham to take on the Tigers of Hargrave Military Academy. Powered by Lilly Herring, Katherine Stone, Katelynn Grochalski, and Noelle Magee, the Colonels recorded their first win of the season 970-934.
The Colonels are in action again next week against HMA and FMS at Virginia Military Institute. Times are still being determined.
