Cadets in the Girls, Inc. club are raising money for Cancer Research. The club is taking pre-orders for a flower and card to be delivered on Valentine’s Day to cadets, staff, or faculty. The flowers and handmade cards are $5.00 each and purchasers get to participate in dress down day on Valentine’s Day. Pre-orders will be accepted until February 6th. This is the second activity for the Girls, Inc. club raising money for a cancer organization. This October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month the Girls, Inc. club in coordination with the Interact Club raised money for the Susan G Komen Foundation by selling donuts on Friday mornings and offering casual dress days to cadets and staff. The cadets made signs, sold donuts and gave out pink ribbon stickers for cadets to wear on Fridays as a badge of honor for supporting the cause. In total, $241.00 was donated to Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of Lynda Krobath who was a teacher at MMA and passed away a few years ago from breast cancer.
