Drone Operations Course New for the 2024-2025 Academic Year

Massanutten Military Academy is excited to announce a new course offering for the 2024-2025 Academic Year: Drone Operations. Drone Operations is a course designed to get cadets excited about drones and potential career options. Cadets will also have the opportunity to sit for the FAA Part 107 Exam and develop a business plan for their own drone business.

The course will be taught by Captain Moore, who also teaches Cyber Security at MMA. Captain Moore said,
"I am excited to be able to teach this course.  Drones offer a lot of exciting job and business opportunities.  Cadets will learn a wide variety of skills during this course including basic aviation, film/photography, and concepts of emergency services such as SAR.  With a job market expecting to grow 51% in the next 5 years, we are helping to create opportunities for our cadet's future."

Drone Operations is supported through DARTdrones and is separate from MMA's STEM partnership with Project Lead The Way. There is a course fee associated and the class is open to Juniors and Seniors only.
