Colonel's Rifle Team Clinches 2nd Place in States
Yesterday MMA came up short at the 7th and final match of the season, the VMSRL annual States competition. The Caissons of Fishburne Military School took 1st place with a 2011. The Colonels shot their best of the season, but came in 2nd place with a 1982. Hargrave Military Academy rounded out the teams at 3rd place with a score of 1886.
Cadet Zhao led all scorers with an awesome score of 529! This also put him in the top position on the All State Tournament Team (top four shooters). Our 2nd best shooter was Cadet Zeynalova with a 494 (6th over-all). She was followed closely by co-captain Cadet Foley shooting a 491 (7th overall). The final top scorer for the colonels was Cadet Hauter with a 468.
Of note, this year’s score was 123 points higher than last year. Also Cadet Gorecki improved on his scores well enough to earn the rifle team beret tonight.
