JROTC Raiders
What is Raiders? High Schools with JROTC programs often put together "Raider Teams" to compete against other schools, similar to other athletic programs. As best described, Raider Competitions are an all-encompassing competition: a test in physical strength, mental abilities, decision-making, and will-power.
Typical Raider events include: Physical fitness test (an individual event consisting of push-ups, sit-ups and 2-mile run); First Aid and Litter carry; One rope bridge (both the construction and tying of knots and the total time for the team to cross the bridge); Obstacle course, Rappelling, Land Navigation, Orienteering, Leader Reaction course (team scenarios that require quick, innovative responses to overcome an obstacle or complete a task); and all Raider events culminate in a team 5km foot march.
