MMA Wraps-up the Spring 2007 Season    posted 18 May 2007

Congratulations to all the Spring sports teams at MMA!!!  Golf wrapped up its most successful season ever with 3 wins during the season and its first appearance in the District Championships.

Softball was knocked by injuries all year, but began to rebound at the end of the year by beating Notre Dame Academy to enter the CAC playoffs.  The Lady Colonels drew Notre Dame Academy in the semi-final round and unfortunately could not beat them to advance.  The Softball team will graduate and lose 5 senior starters this year.

The baseball team beat Mt. View in the CAC Semi-Finals.  In the championship game, Fresta Valley pitching proved to be too difficult as The Colonels took second place in the conference tournament.

MMA Hosts Annual Military Ball and Auction posted 16 May 2007

Last weekend MMA hosted its annual auction and military ball for the cadets.  The night began with the traditional military receiving line.  This tradition provides a formal greeting to all the cadets, parents, and friends to the evening festivities.  The event was held at the National Guard Armory located in Woodstock.  After the receiving line and social hour, the evening meal was prepared and served by Brock Catering, the same company that prepares our daily meals for the cadets.

After dinner, the festivities kicked off with the auction prepared by Kelli Penstock, Alumni Director.  Many items were auctioned from iPods to a Native American blow-gun.  When the auction concluded, Cadet Volpe was crowned queen and the floor opened to dancing for cadets and adults.

Thank you to all the generous and supportive parents, friends, and faculty who worked hard to make this a fun and exciting night for MMA!
