Colonels Football MVP Signs with University posted 14 March 2007

Cadet Michael Geraghty signed his letter of intent with Shepherd University "Rams" last week.  Geraghty, senior MVP quarterback and linebacker for the Colonels, was recruited for his speed, size, and "great hands."  Shepherd University, located near-by in Shepherdstown, WV had shown interest in Cadet Geraghty for some time.

The Rams Head football Coach, Mr. Monte Cater, visited earlier in the year and promised a spot on the team to Cadet Geraghty.  The coach thinks he will be a valuable asset at the tight end or quarterback position at the college level.  In addition,  The Shenandoah Valley Herald was present for his letter of intent signing and will publish an article next week on his acceptance into their football program.  Congratulations and good luck to Cadet Geraghty, represent MMA well!

MMA's Interact Club Sponsors Red Cross Blood Drive posted 14 March 2007

In the early hours of March 13th, the cadets were prepared to accept the Red Cross Van and its supplies for another Blood Drive.  The Interact Club sponsors several Blood Drives throughout the year to help support the high demand of blood supplies.  The cadets do most of the labor, but Joe Babcock, Activities Director, sets up the time and details with the local Red Cross chapter.

There were a total of 27 people who donated blood.  The numbers would have been higher, however, some were denied because of foreign countries visited.  There were 9 new donors, which became the outstanding news of the day! Thanks and well done Interact!

She was promoted to First Sergeant of Echo Company on February 5, and received the coveted Female Academic Athlete Award for the Fall Season. To qualify for this award, a cadet must have the best overall GPA and receive their Varsity Letter in Athletics.  Congratulations Melissa!
