Basketball Team Advances to CAC Finals

 The
Varsity Boys Basketball team would like to thank everyone who
came to the Boys Basketball Game at 4:30 on Tuesday, February
12th. With their 56-52 defeat of Wakefield, the team moved on
to the Championship game to be played Saturday, February 16th at
Wakefield School. Our opponent and time are TBD but we will get
that information on the website ASAP. Thanks again for all your
support and we look forward to seeing everyone at the
Championship game.

Wrestling Team Update from the AD

On Friday night(8 February), the Wrestling Team went to the
Cavalier Athletic Conference Championship which was held at St.
Benedictine High School in Richmond, Virginia this year .
Three Wrestlers Won Individual Championships as the Team took 2nd
place in the Conference. The 3 Wrestlers that won
Individual Championships were:
103 Pounds Kim, G.
119 Pounds Jamie Costa
145 Pounds Matthew McCormick
In winning the championships a new record was set for Individual
Conference Championships, Both Matthew McCormick and Jamie Costa
have now won 3 individual Conference Championships and become the
first 2 wrestlers to reach this goal.
Here is a look of how they stand against past Individual Conference
Champions in MMA’s short wrestling history. Individual
Conference Champions:
Jamie Costa 3 (2 CAC Championships and 1 MAWL Championship)
Matthew McCormick 3 ( 2 CAC Championships and 1 MAWL Championship)
Matthew is a Jr. and has a shot at 2 more.

John Thieberger 2 (2 CAC Championships)
Paul Thieberger 1 (CAC Championship)

Thomas “Tank” Johnson 1 Time State Place Winner 6th
Matthew McCormick 1 Time State Place Winner 8th (did this as a Soph
goes for #2 this year as a Jr.)
