Founders' Day Room Dedication
posted 24 April 2008

MMA dedicated a new classroom on Founders’ Day, April 19th, in the JROTC Wing on the campus. The classroom was recently renovated in honor of two servicemen with the 10th Mountain Division from Ft. Drum, New York.

Sergeant David “Harry” Hierholzer and First Lieutenant Forrest Ewens were
both killed in action in the war on terrorism in Afghanistan in 2006. LT Ewens’ family resides in the state of Washington and SGT Hierholzer’s family resides in Tennessee.

Colonel Zinser, former Battalion Commander in the 10th Mountain Division, held the solemn ceremony with family and soldiers by his side.  Christine Hierholzer, mother of SGT Hierholzer, attended the dedication along SPC Daniel Bowen and PFC James Dovel who were members of the same unit as 1LT Ewens and SGT Hierholzer.

The donor’s family, who will remain anonymous, has a son that served with LT Ewens and SGT Hierholzer.
