Scoutmaster Troop 1899: Mr. Joe Babcock, Massanutten
Military Academy, Director of Activities and Community
Service, Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow Vigil Member, Merit
Badge Counselor, Trained Scoutmaster, and is Wood Badge certified. Joe has been on 15 different
Boy Scout camp staffs, completed five National Camp Schools
and was a professional Scouter for seven years.
Committee Member, LTC James W. DeLaney, USA (Ret.), Director of
Communications. Jim is a retired Army Public Affairs
Officer and is also a retired Associate Director of
Editorial for the Boy Scouts of America National Office. He
has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of
Missouri School of Journalism. Before coming to MMA, he was
Director of Public Affairs for Kemper Military School and
College, Boonville, Mo. He is a member of Troop 1899 and
Troop 111 committees. He also serves as Vice President for
Marketing and Public Affairs for the Shenandoah Area Council, BSA,
and is an active leader in his church. He is an Eagle Scout
and has a son who is also an Eagle Scout. He serves as
counselor for Communications and Journalism merit badges.
