Cadet Health Services

The Infirmary at Massanutten serves a dual role. The nurses provide medical attention to the cadet corps and general health education.

Nurses provide infirmary coverage between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. seven days a week and on-call nurses are available during the night.

During the Academic day, the nurses attend to all cadet illnesses and/or injuries. They also decide whether cadets are too ill or contagious to attend class. In these cases, students are assigned to bed rest and must stay in the infirmary sick bays.

The nurses also arrange physician visits for cadets needing treatment and dispense medication.

The Academy uses local physicians for general medical needs. For specialists, the Head Nurse can provide a list of local physicians. Once the parent(s) choose a doctor and make the appointment, MMA will coordinate transportation to get the cadet to and from appointments. (A transportation fee applies.)

The local hospital is less than a mile south of campus and provides superior emergency services.

Our highly-qualified nurses on staff include 2 RNs, an LPN and CNA.
