At Massanutten Military Academy, we focus on improving and building young men and women to their highest potential. Our program helps teens increase morale and confidence while developing academically.

Honors, AP & Dual Enrollment Courses

*Course availability is based on student interest each year. 

Honors courses offered in all core classes. High School cadets may apply for honors course credit in any high school core discipline (Math, English, Science, or Social Studies) 

*AP courses are available in:  
  • AP Calculus 
  • AP Physics 1 & 2 
  • AP Human Geography 
  • AP Computer Science A 
  • AP US History 
  • AP Government & Politics 
  • AP Language & Composition 
  • AP Precalculus (Beginning 22-23) 
*Dual enrollment courses are available through Shenandoah University. These classes are taught on the MMA campus by approved faculty members. We currently offer: 
  • Biology 
  • Statistics

Diploma Options

  • College Preparatory Diploma is our standard graduation certificate. 
  • Advanced Diploma recognizes outstanding achievement upon completion of additional requirements in math (pre-calculus and higher), foreign languages (three years or more), and other criteria of excellence. 
In addition to the two diplomas offered, MMA Cadets who complete four years of JROTC or four years of one STEM track will receive a seal on their diploma recognizing the achievement. 

Graduation Requirements

Our cadets take classes in each of the four core subject areas each year: English, History, Math, and Science.  Cadets also take at least two years of foreign language. 

Below you will find the class lists for each certificate. Both diplomas are designed to meet college/university admissions criteria.

  • Advanced Studies Diploma

    • English: 4 Credits
    • Math: 4 Credits (through Pre-Calculus)
    • Science: 4 Credits (three lab sciences)
    • Social Studies: 4 Credits
    • Foreign Language: 3 Credits (same language) or two languages each with 2 credits
    • Health: 1 Credit
    • Physical Education: 1 Credit (earned through Fitness / Sports programs)
    • Fine Arts: 1 Credit
    • Electives: 4 Credits
    Total: 26 credits
  • College Preparatory Diploma

    • English: 4 Credits
    • Math: 3 Credits (through Algebra 2)
    • Science: 3 Credits (three lab sciences)
    • Social Studies: 4 Credits
    • Foreign Language: 2 Credits
    • Health: 1 Credit
    • Physical Education: 1 Credit (earned through Fitness / Sports programs)
    • Fine Arts: 1 Credit
    • Electives: 5 Credits
    Total: 24 Credits

Massanutten Military Academy is a co-educational, non-profit military boarding and day school in Virginia for students in 8th-12th grades with post graduate studies. We welcome all faiths and live by our motto: Non Nobis Solum (Not For Ourselves Alone).
